September marks Pediatric Cancer Research Month, an ideal time for the V Foundation for Cancer Research to launch a direct mail campaign focused on childhood cancer. The design began with a heartfelt, handwritten note by a childhood cancer thriver named Harper Harrell. Harper's words and vivacious personality were the inspiration behind this youthful appeal.
Components: Postcards, direct mail letter, envelope and reply card, website and email banners
Sneak peek postcard draws viewer's attention as they see this scrapbook-style journey of Harper's cancer story. "She's one in a million and one in 15,000" are pediatric cancer stats that are thematically used throughout this campaign.
Inside the 2-color converted outer envelope was a personalized letter with Harper's story and statistics. There is also a personalized reply card with bump-giving amounts added and a reply envelope. For easy digital donations, a QR code was added to the letter.
An anonymous donor was so inspired by Harper's story that they launched a million dollar match. Email and website banners were designed to promote this incredible match opportunity.
The million dollar match goal was achieved! The pediatric cancer thrivers featured over this campaign created thank you posters for the V Foundation to share on a thank you postcard, website and email banners.
